1.         Salient features 

          Army school had their origin in 1983 to impart quality education up to secondary school and senior school certificate level to children of Army personnel at a reasonable cost. The schools are run by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) under aegis of Adjutant General’s Branch. These schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi.

          Army Schools are run on the lines of Kendriya Vidyalayas. Admission to Army children is guaranteed in these schools.

2.         Scope

(a)      Syllabus as per CBSE New Delhi.

(b)      Medium of instruction is English.

(c)      Arrangements  to  teach  other  Indian  and foreign  languages  made ,            where possible.

3.         Admission

I Priority

(a) Children of serving Army Personnel, DSC   Personnel, Army War widows,       Assam Rifles and TA (When embodies).

(b) Children of Ex-servicemen and Ex-DSC men.

(c) Children of serving Air Force and Naval personnel.

(d) Children of Ex-Naval/Air Force personnel.

(e) Children of Civilians paid out of Defence estimate,MES, etc.

(f)  Other Children subject to a maximum of 30% of   school strength.

II Priority

Children of Army personnel on transfer from out of station seeking admission during the academic year will be entertained.

III Priority

Fresh admission to Army schools will be through  admission test in the following  subjects.

Classes I to V           - English, Hindi and Mathematics

Classes VI to X         - English, Hindi, Mathematics and Science

4.  Scheme of Studies and Syllabus

          The School follows the scheme of studies as prescribed from time to time by the CBSE for the All India Secondary School Certificate Examination.
